Friday, July 3rd: Independence Eve Celebration

 

Kick off the holiday weekend at the annual Independence Eve Celebration at Hasbrouck Park. This family-friendly event features live music from local bands, food vendors serving up Hudson Valley specialties, and a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.

The celebration starts at 6:00 PM and admission is free. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for a comfortable evening under the stars. Local craft beer and wine will be available for adults, while kids can enjoy face painting and carnival games.

 

Saturday, July 4th: Fourth of July Parade and Picnic

 

The New Paltz Fourth of July Parade marches down Main Street starting at 11:00 AM. Watch as floats, marching bands, and community groups celebrate our nation's independence with patriotic flair.

Following the parade, head to the Village Hall grounds for the annual community picnic. Enjoy barbecue, live entertainment, and games for all ages. The picnic runs from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with proceeds supporting local youth programs.

 

Wednesday, July 8th: New Paltz Farmers Market

 

Every Wednesday through October, the New Paltz Farmers Market transforms the Water Street Market into a vibrant gathering place. From 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, browse fresh produce from local farms, artisanal breads, handmade crafts, and prepared foods.

 

This week's special features include live music by the Hudson Valley String Band, cooking demonstration by Chef Maria Santos, kids' craft corner with recycled materials, and a free yoga class at 5:30 PM.

 

Thursday, July 9th: Outdoor Movie Night

 

Bring the whole family to the New Paltz Recreation Center for a free outdoor movie screening. This week's feature is a beloved animated adventure perfect for all ages. The movie starts at sunset, approximately 8:30 PM.
