Medo for brunch is a hidden gem. I brought friends visiting from Brooklyn and they were genuinely shocked at how good it was. Nobody expects that level of food in Woodstock but here we are.
Linda BrockmannSame reaction from my in-laws when I took them there. My mother-in-law kept saying she felt like she was back in the city. The brunch cocktails are worth the trip alone.
Has anyone actually tried the omakase at Hokkaido? I pass by Church Street all the time and never thought to go in. Might have to change that.
Marcus T.I did the omakase there last fall with my husband. Honestly go, you won't regret it. The fish is so fresh and the chef walks you through everything. Not stuffy at all, very relaxed vibe for such a small place.
A little surprised TOMO made the list but Sushi Makio didn't get more attention for everyday dining. TOMO is fine but the wait on weekends can be really long and they rush you out once it gets busy. Just my experience.
Kyoto on Washington Ave is our go-to at least twice a month. The staff really do remember your order, that part is 100% accurate. The lunch specials are an insane deal for what you get.
Went to Sushi Makio last spring for my birthday and it was honestly one of the best meals I've had in years. Chef Makio just keeps bringing these beautiful little pieces and you have no idea what's coming next. Worth every penny for a special night.
Patrice W.The not knowing what's coming next is exactly what makes it special. My wife was nervous about that going in but by the third or fourth piece she was completely hooked. Happy birthday by the way, sounds like a great way to celebrate!
